A Visit To New Zealand

10.10.2012

At the top of an organisation like Langports is a busy CEO.  John France works hard to keep Langports as one of the premier Language schools in Australia.  He is pleased to have Langports as a member of an organisation called IALC (International Association of Language Colleges).  This is a world organisation of high quality language schools. Criteria for membership is high and schools can only join by invitation.

John has been appointed Regional Director for Asia, Africa, Australia and New Zealand. He is a School Inspector and has the responsibility to inspect schools on behalf of the Association to make sure that the membership criteria is met.

Last week, John visited three schools in New Zealand to conduct their inspection audit, these included Dominion School in Auckland, Coromandel Outdoor Language Centre and Nelson English College.  It was a great opportunity for me, John’s wife, to accompany him and enjoy the drive around New Zealand.

We visited the North and South Island and enjoyed wearing our jumpers, scarves and coats as the weather was much cooler.   We saw Kiwi birds, very strange looking things, lots and lots of sheep , snow on the mountain tops and seals on the rocks as we drove along an ocean road. One day whilst John was working, I was able to go on a wine tasting tour and visited the Cloudy Bay Winery.

Travelling is such a great thing to do, meeting new people, experiencing new cultures and seeing different scenery.  It is always amazing to discover new things but at the end of our journey, it is really really nice to call Australia our home!
