Langports is very privileged to be a provider of education.  We believe that education is a very precious gift.  It gives us the opportunity to grow and offers us the chance of a better life.

War, poverty, politics, climate of disease may contribute to many children not having access to a proper education or the support to make it a life choice.  These children are severely disadvantaged.

yipirinyalogo_THUMB.jpg foundation dinkis.jpg  Yipirinya School is one of the very few Aboriginal controlled independent schools for Indigenous children in Australia.

It was established by the Aboriginal Elders of the Town Camps to provide a safe environment for their children to learn their traditional languages and culture, along with the state curriculum.

Most of the students of Yipirinya come from very difficult backgrounds and need special support.

As an independent school, Yipirinya is not fully funded by the Australian Government.  Most of the children's families don't have the capacity to pay fees, so the school relies on funding and support from the outside community.

Langports is supporting Yipirinya by;

  • Funding some of the writing of Early Childhood reading materials
  • Funding students fees for Basketball registration
  • We are also working towards the building of a Residential House, on the school grounds. This will provide accommodation to the students from the more remote areas or outstations and act as a ‘safe house' for children unable to go back to their homes after school.

New Image.JPG   foundation dinkis.jpg Blue Dragon reaches out to kids in crisis throughout Vietnam.  Their residential facilities, centre and programs give children and youth a new chance in life: the chance to have a home, a good education and a happy, stable life.

They aim to break the poverty cycle by offering education, training and job opportunities to those who need them the most:street kids, child victims of trafficking, and the rural poor.

Langports has been assisting Blue Dragon for the last two years by sponsoring 10 of their children.

These are some of the Langports sponsored children and their interests.

When you have free time, what do you do?

 What do you think you want to do when you grow up?

 What is your favorite subject?
 "When I have free time, I like to study so I can get good results in school. I would like to be a good student at school and a good son at home" "When I grow up, I want to be a doctor. When I was a child I was sometimes sick and I wanted to cure myself.  I'd cure my mother and other poor people like my family" "My favorite subject is Citizen Education because I can learn moral standards and good behaviour"
