You Will Find A Way

26.06.2012

Hi! My name is Connie and I am the Regional Marketing Manager for South America at Langports and I DO NOT LIKE VEGEMITE 🙂 (Sorry Nadine!)

I came across this quote the other day in Facebook and it was one of those moments when you say, “right, I’m going to do it”.

I’ve had this idea about doing a Masters degree for a few years.  It didn’t happen before, for different reasons.  It wasn’t a decision that I was going to make overnight but also it seemed to me that the right course never crossed my path.

Some of you might know that I had a little boy in November called Oliver. I went on maternity leave then I started working again when Oliver was 4 months old. Getting used to a new little person in your life is quite exciting but also very demanding. It really feels like the busiest time in your life, the time when you feel that you can’t juggle more balls….

I had been doing some research and I found the course I wanted to do. I was standing in front of a big decision… Do I want to study when Oliver is this little? Can I work, be a mum AND study at the same time? Shall I spend this time studying when my family needs me this much? So many thoughts were going around my head! And then the quote I came across –  ‘Bite off more than you can chew and then chew like crazy. You will find a way’

So I made the decision and that’s what I’m doing, “chewing like crazy”. It has been a month now since I started and I am not only surviving it, but I’m enjoying it! (and Oli is happy 🙂 )

Now, I think this is something students can do when they are learning English. Put yourself in situations where you have to give more of yourself and don’t be shy, use those phrasal verbs your teachers have been teaching you, get a job where you have to use your English more….YOU WILL FIND A WAY!
