Langports English + Internship program

I am very excited to write this blog post as we have pretty exciting news to share. Langports recently launched the to help students to find unpaid internships in . We have partnered with a company that finds internships in several fields but is also very flexible AND affordable for our students. We are offering this program at our three campuses

Of course your first question will be: Can I do an internship with my visa? The answer is yes, if you hold a visa that allows you to work while you are studying in Australia. However please note that this will be counted within the number of hours that you are allowed to work under your visa rights.

Under a working holiday visa you would be able to:

  • Study up to 17 weeks (full-time or part-time)
  • Do an internship for 4, 6, 8 or 12 weeks (full-time or part-time*)

*Full-time internship = approximately 30 hours per week (after the course)

* Part-time time internship = up to 20 hours per week (during or after the course)

Under a student visa you would be able to:

  • Study at least for 12 weeks (full-time only)
  • Do an internship for 4, 6 or 8 weeks (full-time or part-time*)

*Full-time internship = approximately 30 hours per week (after the course)

* Part-time time internship = up to 20 hours per week (during or after the course)

Business internship

We can help you to find an internship in any of the following areas:

  • Tourism & Hospitality (city, beach and outback destination options)
  • Marketing, Communications and Online marketing
  • Event management
  • Logistics
  • Human Resources
  • Education
  • Finance
  • Fashion
  • Graphic Design, Web Design & IT
  • Sports & Leisure and more.

You will also need to meet some extra criteria to be able to join our program such as:

  1. Study at least 4 weeks of English at Langports
  2. Be over 18 years old
  3. Have an intermediate level here of English
  4. Experience and educational background in the area of the internship (however this is not compulsory for all jobs available)
  5. Medical insurance covering accident and personal liability up to 2 million AUD

We are offering this program in our three campuses: Brisbane, Gold Coast and Sydney, and already have students joining this program.  Here are just a few examples:

–          Brisbane: Albert from Spain started his internship for an IT company and was offered a casual job after he completed his internship. He is working part time for this company while he completes his English studies.

–          Gold Coast: Miho from Japan was placed in a Surf School in Surfers Paradise for 4 weeks where she provided assistance with social media, booking requests and administration tasks.

Why should you do an internship?

  3. Learn the cultural norms and employer expectations within an Australian Business
  4. Develop your confidence in English and in the workplace
