Langports success story: studying English opens hundreds of doors!

13.11.2013

Mathilde Klein 2Hi there, my name is Mathilde and I studied English in Brisbane campus back in 2009.

Only 3 days after my arrival, I started studying English in Brisbane. As some of you might have experienced it, I remember walking in the city on my first day thinking that it was so vast and that Hungry Jacks was the place to be!

At Langports, I lived all the Aussie experiences from pub-crawling to tasting a spoon of vegemite!! But most importantly of course, Langports taught me how to express myself in this beautiful new country.

While I was studying English at Langports, I stayed in a homestay family. I remember it was sometimes hard to tell them when I was hungry or tired because I didn’t really know how to express myself. Five months after studying English with all my determination and hard work, I was accepted to start my medical science degree at Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane.

And here I am, 4 years later, just about to complete my degree. Soon, I will be a qualified medical laboratory scientist! My project is to start medicine school next year and become an Australian Doctor.

I still remember my Langports experience. During all my studies, I had wonderful teachers who always believed in me and kept telling me that I could achieve my goals. I also met a lot of amazing people and now have friends from all over the world.

The only limits in your life are those that you set yourself. If I can give you one advice it is to believe in yourself and chase your dreams!

I would like to thank you everyone at Langports Brisbane who made my study English experience so memorable. I would not be where I am without you.
